Anna - 1st semester of 7th grade and life with Anna

 Dear Anna,

7th grade seems to be flying right on by!  You are having a good year and are doing well.  You say you don't love school and often don't even like it, but you are doing great.  You are responsible and your grades are very important to you.  You rarely need a reminder to do your work or to study.

Your friendships have changed some this year and we've heard for years that happens in 7th grade.   You have a large group of friends at school, but are working on finding your smaller group within the big group.  Your absolute best bud is Brooke by far.  You love hanging out with her and we try hard to get you two together whenever we can.  Over Christmas break you went shopping at Town Center twice.  You went with Katelyn and Leah one time and your then with soccer buddies -Violet, Ellis, and Grace the second time.  These were the first times you've been dropped off to shop somewhere.  You loved every minute of it.   You and Brooke have gone shopping at Target alone a few times.  It is fun seeing you get to do these big kid things and you are always very responsible.

You started reffing this past fall.  You took the class over the summer with Leah.  And now that you are working you have money to spend.  We signed you up with a checking account and you have debit card now.  You don't love reffing, but you don't mind it too much.  You also like the whole shopping thing so I have a feeling you'll be excited to sign up for reffing this spring.

In September you got your top braces.  You have done a good job taking care of your teeth.  You will get your bottom braces this month (January).  You have a fairly simple ortho case and should only have braces  15-18 months total.

This past summer you helped at church during VBC.  You did so well, that the director asked if you'd want to help in Kids COR on Sundays when you are free.  You didn't have much free time in the fall with soccer, but starting in November you've become quite the regular at Kids Cor.  You often want to sign up to help at both the 9 and 11 service.  You have a special t-shirt you wear now and your own badge on a lanyard.  I love that you were brave enough to put yourself out there.  You look forward to Sundays!

Soccer has gone well this season so far.  You have a new coach this year and you really like him and you absolutely love your team as a whole.  Your team is playing in the NPL league so this past fall you traveled to Lincoln and St. Louis.

You played volleyball in the fall and had fun, it is definitely just a sport you squeeze in when you can.  I do think you enjoy playing with all your elementary school buddies.  This year you changed teams for basketball and it was fun seeing you play in more of a challenging league.

You love your sweet little Wilbur.  He keeps you busy and you just adore his friendly little personality.  He loves it when you are in your room with him.  He roams around your room freely and does a good job staying out of trouble.  I'm always amazed with how well you take care of him.  Having a bunny is no small job.

Dad and I are so proud of you and look forward to seeing how life goes the next semester in 7th grade for you.

We love you Bananas!

Love,

Mom and Dad
