Yesterday we took Drew to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. It is so nice you can take your kids there and get a free picture with Santa. It sure beats paying $15 for a crying picture with Santa (that is what we paid last year and Drew screamed bloody murder)! This year we weren't expecting much better, we don't have the bravest boy on the block. So while we were waiting in line Mike prepped Drew over and over. He told to him to watch each kid get on Santa's lap, take a picture, and get a candy cane. Mike must have repeated this at least ten times. So when Drew's turn came around Mike walked him over to Santa and put him in his lap. I ran to the side and his picture was taken and the whole time Drew was trembling and his pouty lip stuck out, but he was so brave! Not one tear! We were so proud and amazed, he did it!

We continued the Christmas cheer last night and took Drew to Crown Center to see the lights and Mayor's Christmas tree. We also stopped to watch the ice skaters. We then headed to the Plaza to walk around and enjoy the lights. Drew loves looking at lights! It was a nice family night! We look forward to enjoying some more Christmas filled family nights!
Today we headed to Church and the sermon series that started for the Advent season, is surely a good one. The sermon was all about not forgetting the real reason for Christmas and that not to buy people things just to buy. I think it is a great idea, everyone gets so caught up in the gift giving and getting when there 's so many more important things to celebrate! I am hoping we can follow this advice this year!
