Sick Day with My Girl

Nannie Girl came down with a little virus yesterday afternoon while she was at Ma's house.  I did take her to the doc to rule out an ear infection (since she has a bit of a history).  Her ears were clear, so the conclusion was it is just a nasty virus with a high fever! I put my sub plans together before I left school yesterday (which makes life a little easier than doing them the day of).  So I enjoyed playing "stay at home mom" today.  I went boxing at 6 am, came home showered, got Drew some breakfast (for once he could sit at the table and eat and not in the car like we do every other work day).  It was funny because Drew wanted to eat in the car, I guess it is hard breaking old habits.  We got the poor sick baby girl up and jumped in the car. Drew was excited I was dropping him off and I wouldn't be in the building (I guess he wanted to be like all his other buddies for once).  Anna and I ran to Walgreen and then played at home before heading to pick up Drew.  She seemed pretty good, until we were on our way home from getting Drew.  She looked lethargic, pale, and tired.  When we got home her fever had spiked to 103.4.  Poor little girl!  So we got her some meds and she was back down to 101 thirty minutes later. 

Anna took a great nap while Drew and I hung out.  We watched a movie, made play-doh pizzas and played with the play-doh dentist set, and we also found some time to do some school type activities that were Super Hero related (the only way I could get him to practice cutting, numbers, and letters).  Overall it was a wonderful day at home with the kids.  I could get used to this stay at home mom stuff!

New Hair Cuts

I took the kids today to get some haircuts.  Drew did great of course and always looks so stinking cute with a fresh haircut.   It was Anna's second "real" hair cut.  Last time she suprised us and just sat there and let the lady cut her hair.  This time a guy cut her hair and she wasn't having it so she sat on my lap.  Therefore I didn't get a pictures of her haircut.  She's been losing hair this summer on top of her head and bottom layer close to neck.  It is a bit strange, but the doctor isn't concerned.  Her new hair is growing in like crazy on the top of her head and it is very blonde.  I guess she decided she wanted to shed her dark hair and wanted to be a blonde.  Right now it looks like those new hairs are even more blonde than Drew's hair.  She may look like she's got a mullet for a while.  So we'll see what she ends up looking like after this hair transformation, I'm just hoping she ends up with a full head of hair.  She has a good chance to, since Mike and I both have a lot of hair!  Drew also was three before he got his thick hair and the baby fine hair was gone.
