Anna 9 years 5 months

Dear Nans,

Happy monthly birthday!  Lots has happened this past month.  You finished swim team.  One of the highlights was you took 15th place in the breast stroke out of 76 swimmers.  You also set a personal record in the breast stroke.

You did a couple camps this past month.  You went to Wolf Creek Art camp with Brooke.  You loved your special time with Brooke each morning.  You also went to the OEL science camp with Elyse.  It was super muddy each day, but you really enjoyed being outside and getting all that time with Elyse.

The Taylors moved back this past month and you've really enjoyed hanging out with Celia.  You girls have a lot of fun together at the pool especially.

We went to the lake with the Dawons this past month.  Everyone had tons of fun skiing and tubing.  You also loved swimming and just playing at the house.

Your barbies have been out and about this month.  You enjoy playing when no one else is around.

I was able to have time with you and Drew a couple times this month.  We went to Scheels and got ice cream one day when Wyatt was with a friend.  Another time we went school shopping and you two are so funny together.  You are very goofy and fight very little.  It is amazing how much more you two interact without your little brother around.

Your brothers and you have spent a long time creating a Lego City in the basement.  It is so fun to see all your creativity work together.

Last week we had 5 of your friends over to swim one morning.  You had a lot of fun coming up with routines in the pool.  I love watching you interact with your friends, you are a real goof ball!

You just had your first soccer tournament of the season and your 2010 team won first place.  It was fun seeing your team play this weekend after a summer off.  You are going to have a great team this year.

I also took you for a hair cut today at Susan's place and she did a great job.  Your hair is so beautiful and you looked so grown up after Susan styled it.  Can't believe you are days a way from starting 4th grade!

We love you so much Anna!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Wyatt 4 years 11 months

Dear Wyatt,

This past month has included more time at the lake.  You were not a fan of the Mable at all this past month and you have also decided you like the jet skis if we are going "slow."  So we are just letting hang out on the boat until you find your courage again.

Your favorite thing to do these days is go to hte pool.  You ask to go often and never want to leave once we get there.  You and your sister are the fish in the family, you two could live in the pool!

We went out to Longview Lake one day to swim at the beach.  You loved digging in the sand and jumping around on the smaller flotation devices, you weren't kind big enough for the big section.  We also took the jet skis out to the lake one day and drove Anna and Drew around on our smaller tube.  You did a good job helping to drive the jet ski - you had no desire to try out the smaller tube.

You have been enjoying having the Taylors back in town.  You and Mitch have lots of fun together and you love baby Rose you are always asking if we can go play with them.

It's hard to believe this summer is about over.  You still have several weeks left, but the kids are about to start and I'm not sure you are ready for you playmates to leave.

One more month until you are 5, how did our baby boy get so big???

We love you buddy,
Mom and Dad

Drew 11 years 10 months

Drew,

Two more months until the big 12!  Summer seems to have flown by.  You have been focusing on basketball this summer.  You've been going to a skills clinic a couple times each week and it is fun seeing how much you've improved.  You love basketball and until this summer, we haven't focused too much on it.  It is nice having coaches that are trained in how to help you improve.  You have been in a group of boys that are going into 6th grade through 8th grade and it was very intimidating at first for you, but you are now used to it and doing really well.  There are often boys there are also already in high school.  The coach seeked me out one practice and told me to take videos of you doing the drills.  He said that you have the skills and all you need now is the confidence.  He said to take videos of you so you can see how well you are doing later on.  Dad and I are proud of you and enjoy watching you learn new things.

One day dad was outside and about to mow when you asked him to show you how.  He walked you through the entire yard and you did really well.  You have mowed completely on your own since that first time.  Dad also told you he'd give you $20 every time you mow.  Dad is still doing the weed eating, but you mow the entire yard and do a great job.

You have stayed home quite a bit this summer and I often leave Wyatt with you if I don't plan to be gone long.  You say he does a pretty good job listening to you when you are left in charge.  I always hold my breath while I'm gone because Wyatt is our little wild card for sure.

A couple weeks ago you fell off the hoverboard (while in the house) and ended up with a concussion. It was an awful experience and boy do I wish I could go back in time and put a helmet on your head.  I never thought to make you guys wear helmets since I only allow you to use your hoverboard inside. We took you to your doctor and she confirmed the concussion and we took it easy and slowly had you return to soccer.  It wasn't fun when you couldn't watch tv, let alone look at any screens for a couple days.  You felt tortured.  So for now on you'll be wearing a concussion band while playing soccer.

We are looking forward to this next month around here!  Middle school here you come!

We love you,
Mom and Dad
