I have a lot of pics to post! I haven't been blogging as much as I should be.

My baby looks so old in this outfit. He could fit in at my school he looks like he could be in elementary school.

Here is Drew at the park. We took Patton to the dog park (Drew was in the backpack so he wouldn't get trampled by the crazy dogs) and then we headed to the playground. Fun times for both Drew and Pat!

"Drew big boy"

This is what my little boy told me the other day. We call him a big boy all the time and of course I still (and always will) call him my little baby. Out of the blue the other day he shouts out "Drew big boy!" Of course it made me laugh, but also a little sad!

He's been saying all kinds of things that makes us laugh these days. I've been trying to remember them or write them down so I don't forget. He is finally answering questions with something other than no or just repeating what we said. He is saying "yeah" and "sure" now. He says "yeah" like a little Canadian, it is so cute. He's also been saying "welcome" when someone thanks him.

He's been telling us "right back" if he wants to run and get something quickly. The other evening Drew and I went for a walk. He started out in the wagon and soon wanted to walk. He was great about holding my hand when crossing the street, but once we got to the sidewalk it was hands off for him. We were walking along and he said, "boy mom." I looked around didn't see a boy, but noticed he was looking towards his shadow. I asked him, "Who is that boy?" He answered, "Drew & Mommy." He had noticed my shadow too.

I just love hearing what comes out of his mouth! There have been a couple times lately his lovely talking has become a bit embarrassing. He now tells us if he toots, no matter if we are at home or out and about. I also had to take him into a public restroom recently and as we are walking in he says, "Mommy poopy." Then he proceeds to point to other ladies in the restroom and say "Poopy Mommy?" I guess I should celebrate he is having some interest in the whole potty training thing. I know we have many embarrassing moments ahead of ourselves!

He is also very observant. He notices when I change his sheets in his bed. He'll run to his bed and say "new sheet." He also noticed that I had changed the sheets in our bed. He loves snuggling in bed with us and he sat down and pointed to the sheets and said "new."

The excitement of baby number two!

I want to go back in time a bit and blog about our excitement over baby number two. We got our first positive pregnancy test on the 4th of July. That will be an easy day to remember. We were at the lake and I planned ahead and had brought some pregnancy tests with us. We planned on keeping our secret to ourselves for a little while longer than we did with our pregnancy with Drew. So we had to keep all the tests, wrappers, and boxes in our luggage. We kept our secret from our parents and brothers until the end of July/early August. We used Drew's big brother shirt as our prop for telling our parents. We made a visit to both grandparents and Drew sported his new shirt. It didn't take long for everyone to catch on! I have heard from many people that the second pregnancy is just different, I have to agree. It is still very exciting, but our lives are so busy with Drew that it doesn't seem to consume our thoughts like pregnancy number one. We are looking forward to seeing Drew with the baby and seeing the two of them grow up. A sibling is a gift we can't wait to give Drew!

An Apple Picking Good Time

On Saturday we carried on a family tradition and made our way out Weston, Missouri to Vaughn Orchard. Mike and I started going a year or two before Drew joined the family. We always go with the Burleson clan and the last two years the Taylors have joined us. This year was a bit of a disappointment. Due to the weather we had this past spring the crop wasn't quite what it usually is. We still had fun and ended up getting some good apples. The employees at Vaughn mentioned that they would only be opened for picking this weekend and maybe only yesterday depending on the turn out. Every other year there are several weekends for picking. I hope this coming spring has better apple growing weather!

We also enjoyed some apple fritter doughnuts (they were served hot) and an apple cider slush. I could get used to this fall food. It surely put us in the mood for fall, even thought it was a bit of a warm day. Drew loved picking the apples and taking a bite right away. He spent most of the apple picking time eating apples and being held. He is not a fan of long grass and this place was full of damp long grass.

After picking the Burlesons joined us for lunch at the Weston Cafe. It is always fun going out to eat with them, we need three highchairs and seating for four adults. Now that we both have another baby on the way, we are a bit worried what our dining experience will be like next year. Hopefully the older two kids will be able to sit on a booster seat or in a chair... that will help. Not every restaurant has 5 high chairs available for one party! That also means the kids will out number us next year!

23 Months

Our baby will be 1 for only one more month. I can't believe we will have a 2 year old! Drew is at such a fun stage. Still surprising us everyday with new words and expressions. He knows so much and I don't know where he picks up half of it.

Here are some of the latest things...
The other morning I went through the Starbucks drive thru and when we driving away he asks me, "French Fry Mom?" So apparently we've made a few too many drive thru trips and he expects every drive thru to serve french fries!

He loves asking us where people or things are, we hear this ALL day long:
"Daddy go?"
"Daddy's car go?"
He'll ask about everyone and anyone. Most of the time he asks us when he can still see the person or object.

Drew sneezed the other day and he followed up with a "bless you."

He ran into the corner of the table and then pointed at the corner and said "bad boy."

He got a boo boo and I asked him if I should kiss it for him, he told me "No Drew kiss it."

It is always fun to see Drew at the end of the day. When we pick him up he always has a "new" toy or object he's become attached to during the day. He is very lucky that his babysitters let him borrow the objects. We are trying hard to keep track of where all these toys go, we try and send them back asap so they won't get lost at our house.

A couple of Drew's favorite things to do:
He is very into cars these day. He likes cars of all sizes, he lines them up and vrooms all over the house. He even likes to drive both of his Pas' cars. Whenever he's at one of the grandparents' houses he seems to find his ways to their cars. The funny thing is he never asks mom or dad about driving our cars, I guess he knows our answer will probably be no. Those grandparents just don't know how to say "no" to that cute little face!

I have a feeling that Drew will one day be a running partner of mine. The kid loves to run. He makes lap after lap around the house. He can't get enough!

He still loves Franklin the tv show. His birthday party will have a Franklin theme and we know he'll just love it!

Baby Girls

Nope...I'm not announcing the gender of our baby. I thought the title might throw you off. We won't be finding out what we are having until mid to late October. This is a post about our friends!

This has been a busy month for our friends. Our friends Lane, Julia, and big sister Nadia welcomed a baby girl into this world last Thursday. They named her Leah Ann.


Our friends Christie, Aaron, and big sister Avery welcomed a baby girl into this world today. Brooke Ashlyn picked quite a day to make her entrance. What a cool birthday....9-9-09! No one will forget her birthday!


We are so excited for our friends. We will be visiting soon! Mike and I are thrilled all of our friends are having their second babies, maybe they'll have some pointers for us by the time March rolls around!

Another Trip to the "Farm"

We enjoyed our Monday off work. We got to see the Corser's new house and show them Drew's favorite farm. It was such great weather for a visit to Deanna Rose. We've got to enjoy it now, before long it will be closed for the season.

I have been slacking on the blog since school started. Most evenings I'm just not in the mood to update, so I've got to get better about this. We were pretty busy last weekend, this past week, and we've also been busy this weekend. I've got a lot to update!

Last Saturday Drew enjoyed a day with Celia and Dean. Julie and Kyle came over and the guys worked on the car while Julie and I hung out with the kids all day. We took a very quick trip to the "farm" (Deanna Rose). We didn't stay long it was packed! Drew loves his new baby cousin, Dean. He wanted to "hold" him. We got some cute pictures of the two boys.





On Sunday we went to a brunch at my mom's house for my Aunt Peg's birthday. Drew enjoyed seeing everyone and fell asleep minutes before we got home. Mike is becoming skilled at getting him out of the car and changing his diaper without waking him up. I got some cute pictures of my sleepy little guy.

Drew had a busy week and enjoyed spending time with his grandmas, Stacey, and Patsy. We also seemed to have something every night last week. This coming week should be a lot less hectic, and I'm looking forward to it!

On Friday I had another doctor's appointment and we got to hear the heartbeat with the doppler for the first time, that was exciting. The heartbeat was in the 140's and it was in the 140's last week. The first time I had a sonogram (7 weeks) the heart rate was 160. My first thought was we might be having a girl because of the heart rate, but now I'm wondering since the heart rate hasn't been as high lately.

On Friday evening Mike and I had Kate & Jason's rehearsal dinner. And yesterday I spent the day with friends getting ready for the BIG day. We got our hair and makeup done and everything went very smoothly. It helped that the beautiful bride was so calm. It doesn't really surprise me though, Kate is just so laid back. Drew and Mike joined me at the reception. Drew had a great time. He decided to sit down in the middle of the floor several times and played cars. I was on watch so he wouldn't trip anyone walking by. Drew especially enjoyed the cake and the dancing. Weddings are so much fun for kids. So much to look at and he enjoyed showing off for Julie, Kyle, Pa, Ma, Daddy, and I. He ended up being the only little one at our table and I think he felt it was a good time to show off his talents! It was a great day. The weather was perfect and everything worked out so well! Congrats to Kate and Jason!
