Dear Anna,
You are a few days away from starting third grade. You are excited to find out who your teacher is (tomorrow is the big day) and you can't wait to see your friends on a regular basis, but other than that you do not want school to start. You love hanging out and playing at home. I know you'll be fine with school once you get back in the swing of things.
You have finished swimming for the summer. You had a great Championship meet. You got 8th overall in the backstroke (out of 63 girls). Your freestyle relay team got 7th, and you were the last leg. You had an awesome come back at the end to win your heat. You got 25th out of 76 girls for the freestyle. Your relay team got 3rd for the medley relay (you swam the backstroke). It was really fun to watch you compete at such a big pool with huge stands (it was at the Gladstone Community Pool).
Now that swim is over you have started soccer practices and volleyball starts this week too. So you are staying busy. You are also taking gymnastics on Wednesdays.
We've been to the lake twice this past month, once with the Daswons and then with Greg and family. This past month you have learned to water ski and oh my goodness have you done well. You popped right up many times and once you got brave enough you stayed up and really skied. You've done so well that I was rather scared to be left out in the lake while you took off skiing (I stay in the water to help hold your skis). You best run was 30 seconds. Can't wait to see you get better and better each time you get out there.
You also went to your first concert ever. We saw the Imagine Dragons, it was a very fun family outing. You also went to the art camp at COR with Taylor and you enjoyed the different activities. You are still a bit obsessed with making slime, I really hope that craze dies out soon. It is such a mess!
Looking forward to this next month with our girl. We love you Anna!

Wyatt 3 years 11 months
Dear Wyatt,
ONE more month as a three year old. Makes Daddy and I sad you are growing up so fast. You really seem like a big boy lately. You like to wear longer shorts and longer socks like Drew. You often see what Drew is wearing and then find something similar in your drawers. You also love wearing you Blue Crew Royals hats since Drew has them too. You typically wake up and dress yourself everyday. Some days you do great, other days you may be wearing blue of all shades from head to toe.
You are equal parts cute, sweet, and a challenging. Some days I'm laughing and other days I'm crying in frustration. You tell me I'm beautiful and then the next second you are doing everything but what I asked you to do. I'd say Drew and Anna feel similar. You definitely change the dynamics up at our house. You are all boy and very rough and tumble, which Drew was NOT at your age. You want to punch, wrestle, run around, play guns, dinosaurs, etc. Drew was a much calmer little boy that you are, so sometimes I have to remind myself that you are you and you will not be just like your bother. You do however get Drew in on the mix now and oh my you two can be loud and rough. If you could get Drew and Anna to play what you want every moment you'd be the happiest kid in the world. You absolutely adore the two of them and you also know how to push every button.
Speech still continues to be a challenge for you and it is hard having a break over the summer. We work on certain sounds with you as the arise throughout conversation.
Skipping naps are getting easier and easier, you don't fall asleep randomly quite as much anymore. You do go to bed easier the nights you don't nap, so that is a plus. But every few days you do require a nap, we can tell when you are tired, you become a whiner!
We are looking forward to this last month in the threes with you, still can't believe our little baby boy is getting so big!

Drew 10 years 10 months
Dear Drew,
I can't believe our summer is about over. It has been a good summer and I've think you've had just enough time being busy with camps and enough time at home being lazy. I think you'd be outside every second of the day playing if you had friends nearby in the neighborhood, unfortunately you really don't so we have to schedule playdates ahead of time. With some your time at home you often get "bored" and want to play PS4 or play on your iPad a lot. So we are working on balancing those things. Wyatt has wanted to play with you non-stop this summer which can be fun at times, but then there are plenty of time you want to play alone without your little brother tagging along. So we are also working through those struggles too. You do seem to get a kick out of your little brother, especially when he comes down the stairs dressed like you in the mornings.
This past month you've learned to water ski. We have been to the lake twice and you are making so much progress. You also have become so brave and love a crazy ride on the Super Mable (kind of like tube, pulled behind the boat).
Your baseball career has officially ended. It was sad to see it end, but we did make the right decision. Your team has sense decided they are playing fall ball and then dissolving. So even if you would be playing fall ball that would have been the end of baseball anyway. Your fall is looking quite busy with 3 soccer teams, so I don't think you'll notice too much that you aren't playing baseball.
