Apple Picking

We were able to continue our yearly tradition we started before the kids were even here.  We went to Cider Hill Fest this past Saturday.  It was rather hot, but we did get lots of good apples!

Anna doesn't get the whole idea of smiling when taking a selfie!

Royals Game

We got some free tickets to the game on Friday, September 25th.  So we hauled the kids there and had some fun.  Too bad the Royals didn't win and the starters weren't playing.  We still enjoyed the nice weather and night out and about!

Wyatt really wanted some peanuts so we have him one in the shell and he loved sucking on it!

baseball games are hard work for this little guy, plus if I remember right he didn't take much of a nap that afternoon.

Wyatt's first hair cut!

Wyatt was in need of a hair cut so we waited until the whole family could go.  We went the afternoon of September 25th since Anna had no school that day and Drew got off early.  Wyatt did pretty well considering he doesn't like to hold still.

Here are some before pics:

Fun Run at School

The kids' school did a Fun Run as a Fundraiser this year.  It turned out to be a lot of fun and both of my kiddos really impressed me with their running.  Running is something that is just part of me and seeing my kids enjoy it was awesome!  And since this my blog and I'm writing this for the kids to read some day when they are older, I get to brag all I want.

Drew ran 45 laps and Anna ran 28 laps (30 laps equaled 2 miles).  Drew finished the most number of laps and finished them first for all of 2nd grade.  I'm so darn proud of him!  I'm also extremely surprised because he hasn't really shown much of a love for running in the past.  We just walked a 5K this past weekend and he complained quite a bit of it and so did Anna.  I'm pretty sure the reason he did so well is because he's extremely competitive.  So make it a "race" and he'll strive to win.

Now Anna seems to be built as a runner.  She's super tall and very lean and has some very long legs!  But the kid runs for 5 steps in soccer and is ready to sub out.  She doesn't like to walk far distances, in fact she tries to hitch a ride on the stroller or the cart if we are shopping.  Well she shocked the pants of me.  She didn't run the whole thing, but she ran a good amount of it and made it 28 laps.  I really thought she'd make it around 5 times and be done.  Maybe she's got a future in running...I'd love that! Way to go kiddos!  I also must note Wyatt was out there cheering on his big brother and sister and even missed his afternoon nap for the event, way to be a team player Wy Wy!

This little girl poured lots of water on her head!
