Life at the New House

We've been here over two months now and we definitely feel like we are home.  We LOVE our new house.  We still haven't hung up a picture in the entire house, but we'll get there.   Not only is our house wonderful, but we  really hit the jackpot with the new neighborhood!  There are kids EVERYWHERE!!!  It is amazing how many families out here and 4 and 5 kids each.  Every time we go outside we always run into someone to play with.  Drew and Anna both ask to go outside constantly.  We've had many nights with our sandbox and swing set full of kids.  We also got to enjoy watching the final four game outside on a huge blow-up screen.  One of our neighbors owns a side company where he rents out a large screen for movie nights.  It was so amazing watching the game outside on a beautiful night with a group of fun people.  We are looking forward to our summer movie nights outside with the neighbors.

Mike and I are also enjoying the adults in our neighborhood.  Everyone is friendly and just hang out outside socializing.  It is very different from our last street.  We will stay in contact with two families from our old street - but other than that everyone stayed to themselves.

The kids and I are looking forward to summer so we don't have to go inside before the sun goes down.  It sure is a battle to get the kids inside for bed these days!!!

Anna's 2 Year Stats

Daddy and Drew took Anna to her 2 year appointment on March 23rd.  Daddy reported that Anna did not say one word from the time they entered the doctor's office until they left.  She sure is our shy little girl these days.  Drew however, stepped up as the big brother and helped Daddy out.  Once the nurse got them settled in the exam room she instructed Mike to strip Anna down to her diaper and when Mike turned around, Drew was already taking Anna's coat off for her.

Anna is doing great.  She's talking up a storm (the doctor had to take Mike's word for it since she wasn't about to show off her skills) and she's one tall girl!

Height: 35 and 3/4 inches 90% percentile
Weight 26 pounds and 14 ounces 50%
Head: 75%

She's built to be a model!

Spring Break in Review

Well I'm sitting here writing this post knowing that tomorrow we are back to the grind.  Spring break is over.  I loved having this past week off with the kids.  We had a lot of fun together and we able to see some friends and enjoy the beautiful weather.  The kids were able to go without jackets all week and even wear shorts and sandals!  It gave us a taste of summer and now I'm going to start the countdown to summertime with my kiddos!

We started our break with Anna's 2nd birthday and I'm so happy I got to spend her birthday with her.  Ma also got to spend the special day with us (see the post before for pictures from her big birthday).  On Tuesday we had friends over (Taylors, Beveridges, and Dawsons) to our house to  play.  There were four of us moms and there were 10 kids that were age 5 and under.  Craziness!!!  They actually did great.  The two five year olds and two four year olds ran around and played.  The 4 two year olds played well together and seemed to play much quieter than the older ones.  The babies (6 and 8 months) enjoyed hanging out and watching all the action.  We'll have to get this group together again, especially this summer.  I'll be looking into to starting up my weekly playgroup again, we have the room at our new house for sure!  I was impressed how smoothly lunch went with all ten of them!

On Wednesday the kids and I enjoyed a lovely morning at the Great Mall.  We got there about 8:30 to get the address on my drivers license changed.  There were 25 people ahead of me, so 1.5 hours later we were headed out the door.  The kids did ok and it helped they were able to run around while we waited.  Drew did however lose his beloved notebook in the toliet (that is what he gets for sticking it in his hat I guess).  We had the Petzolds over to see the house and play that afternoon.  Drew sure loves having friends over to play!

On Thursday we went shopping for the house with Toots.  The kids did well going in and out of stores.  We had to hurry home for Drew's play date that afternoon.  His buddy Kennedy from school came over to play in the afternoon.  Drew has been to her house before and had a great time, so we were excited to host this time.  Kennedy is the first friend that Drew has met all on his own (all of his other friends are Mike and my friends' kids).  I guess this is a sign that our boy is growing up!
Our beautiful Magnolia tree!
On Friday we started our family weekend since daddy is always off on Fridays.  We've enjoyed the park several times and playing out in the yard.  We've also enjoyed playing with the neighbors and having the Taylors over to play.  It was a fun filled weekend and a great way to end spring break!
Happy St. Patrick's Day from our two little Irish kiddos.

The weather was so nice they got to enjoy popsicles!

Patton had a great week too!

We enjoyed ourselves so much that the kids are counting down the days until summer.  I can't wait to be a stay at home mom (for a couple months)!

March 12th - Birthday

Anna had a great day on her birthday!  She woke up with a smile and had birthday muffins for breakfast.  We met Ma at Debbie Howard's Gym for the open play time.  Anna was rather shy and stuck mainly by my side. She did enjoy the swing though.  After the gym we ran around the Great Mall and did a little shopping and had some lunch.  We then had to stop by the old house for a minute and ran into our wonderful old neighbors.  We had a quick impromptu play date.  Drew was thrilled to get a few minutes with his buddy, Ryan!  We then went home and Anna attempted to take a nap, but it didn't quite work.  When daddy got home (early) we packed up some dinner and headed to the park for a picnic and some play time!  Who ever thought we'd be outside picnicking in summer clothes on Anna's birthday?

When we got home we headed to a new neighbor's house for a little fire in the outside fireplace and play time in the yard.  We then hurried home for birthday cupcakes and presents!  What a fun-filled birthday!
