We had a fun night of birthday celebrations with the Finholm/Purcell/Wos/Taylor cousins. We celebrated all the September and October birthdays. 5 of the 11 cousins were celebrated. Drew and Wyatt enjoyed celebrating and just playing with everyone.

Happy 5th Birthday Wyatt!
Dear Wyatt,
Happy birthday buddy! You are so happy to be 5 and so proud to tell everyone all about how big you are. I think we've been talking and planning out your birthday for about a month. This past month you have been waiting patiently (some of the time) for your school to start. It was hard sending Drew and Anna off to school each day and for you to be home with just me. You like to keep busy and have a play date at all times. We did have more time for play dates with your friends this past month. You love playing with Harrison, Decker, and Peyton and her little brother, Gage. We've also had the chance to see baby Rose. We got to the park several times and the pool too. But I must say you are thrilled to be back in school now. You've had 7 days of school these last two weeks and you are loving it. You love going 4 days a week and staying for lunch 3 of those days. You are a bit tired though. Soccer has started for you, you've had two games. The first game you pretty much just hung out and watched, but the second game you got two goals right from the beginning and then had about 3 close shots after that. You are loving soccer and love when we come to watch you.
On Monday this week we had small little party for you with your buddies. You invited Harrison, Decker, and Ali to open gym and then back to our house for cupcakes and play time. It was the most perfect party for a 5 year old. Open gym was not busy at all and you were able to run around and play tag with your friends. Everyone had fun! You loved having cupcakes at our house and then all four of you played so well together. You said it was your best day ever. Your friends gave you a remote control car, Legos, and Transformers - all toys you just love!
We celebrated your big day with the Howell side back over labor day weekend when we were all at the lake. We had brownies and Aunt Kelley brought you a super cool " 5" balloon. You got Bey Blades from Peter and Ben and Pa and Toots took you to the car shop to make your own remote control car (you have been admiring the one Drew made years ago for weeks). You loved celebrating at the lake and it was fun having a low key celebration.
Today you celebrated by waking everyone up early so we could open a couple presents before school/work. You got your own "Alexa" and some Transformers. Then you got to celebrate at school. You chose to bring Gushers to share with your classmates and then you got to wear a birthday hat and was sung to. You loved it! After school I got to take you to get ice cream and you picked Peach Wave and then tonight we are having pizza and a yellow cookie cake (your request) and you will get to open the rest of your presents.
FIVE is such a fun and magical age. We are so lucky we get to celebrate with you!
We will be celebrating with my side of the family next weekend, so one more celebration to come!
We love you so much our big 5 year old!

Anna 9 years 6 months
Dear Anna,
Happy 1/2 birthday! Can't believe you are 1/2 way through your 9th year already. This past month has been busy. You have started 4th grade! You are in Mrs. Duggan's class and your best school buddy, Leah is in class with you. You were so excited to be in class together again.
You were a little excited and a little sad to be the only Howell kiddo at SPE this year. So strange sending you off to school without your big brother. In fact, most days you don't see Drew until after school since he leaves for school so early.
Soccer is going well. Both of your teams are doing so well. You enjoy going to practices each week and look forward to your games When it comes to your games some days you are on and some days you are there for the social aspect.
You decided you wanted to play the violin this year. We are renting your violin and you are really excited about learning a musical instrument. You are the first one in this family to do this, so it is new to all of us. Wyatt is especially intrigued by your violin so you have to keep it hidden from him.
Tonight we celebrated Wyatt's 5th birthday, I guess you always get to celebrate your 1/2 birthday with a little cake
We love you Anna and are looking forward to this next moth.
Love,
Mom and Dad

Drew 11 years 11 months
Dear Drew,
It has been a fun and busy month. You have officially started middle school! The day before school started (August 14) you got to go up to school for a couple hours and it was just for 6th graders. You learned a bit about the school and you were supposed to get your class schedule, but that didn't quite happen. There's been an issue with the district server so no one got their schedule until after school officially started. You were excited to start school and were just a little nervous, but overall dad and I were so impressed with how brave you were.
You have enjoyed middle school from the first day. You like switching classes and seeing different kids throughout the day. You said you know at least 4 or 5 kids in each class so there is always some to talk to. So far you haven't really had any homework and haven't done much studying yet. Seems as though 6th grade is the year you will be just sail through as you start to learn more and more responsibility.
The night before the 6th grade day at school you and dad got to go to a Royals game with Hudson and his dad. The Royals played the cardinals so it was a fun game because Hudson and his dad love the Cardinals.
Soccer is going well you have played a few games. You did skip out on a tournament over Labor Day weekend so we could go to the lake. You ended up with a fever while we were at the lake. So it was a bummer you had to miss out on some of the lake fun, but it was a good weekend to skip the soccer tournament since you ended up being sick.
The Chiefs are off to a great start and boy are you super excited. You organized another fantasy football draft for you buddies and you are loving the friendly competition each week.
We are looking forward to this next month as you will be turning 12! Yikes!
We love you,
Mom and Dad
