The kids and I have enjoyed our break this week! We've had a nice mix of playing and relaxing. The kids got to go to bed earlier and sleep in a little later We had plenty of mornings of hanging out in our pjs! The only disappointment this week has been the weather. It has been very cold, wet, and windy and we've seen plenty snowflakes (so far it hasn't stuck too much).
We've also been fairly productive this week. We met a neighbor and her little girl who might be watching Drew before and school next year. That has been on my list to do for a while now. They seem like great people and Drew had fun with the daughter, so let's hope it all works out! I've cleaned out several cabinets here and there and re-organized a bit. Drew and I got our teeth cleaned and Anna had to have daddy check her teeth while we were at the office. But the most productive thing that has happened is Anna has potty trained herself! She isn't quite there with number 2 yet, but I don't think it will be too much of a struggle. I wasn't expecting this at all and it has required very little work on my part (awesome!)! I had already planned that potty training was going to take a lot of my attention this coming summer, but I'm thrilled to get it done early (a whole post to come on this accomplishment soon).
We got to see the Dawson ladies a couple different times. The kids love playing with Avery and Brooke and they all get along so well. We got to visit the Petzolds. It was great seeing my friend Patsy and the kids had a great time catching up. Drew loves playing with Will (who's a big second grader...I'm pretty sure Drew would love to have him as a big brother)! We also got to spend some time with our old neighbor buddies! Drew loved having his best buddy Ryan over to play. Anna and Reese played dress up and with babies and sweet baby Charlie played with everyone. Too bad we don't get to see them near as often anymore. We miss the days just seeing them outside and running out to play.
I just love having extra time over break and catching up with friends! Drew and Nans love their friend time too! We also got to visit the library and actually go inside and pick out books. During the school year we rarely go inside the library, I just request books and go through the drive thru to pick them up (poor kids). I also spent some time looking at our summer schedules and picking out some fun activities/camps for the kids to partake in!
What a wonderful week with the kids, the countdown to summer has officially started!
Luckily we got outside Monday afternoon with our buddy, Avery!
