A Wonderful Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend.  We went to dinner on Friday to celebrate Greg's (and Mike's) birthday.  It is always fun watching Drew, Anna, and Peter interact. We are so excited that there will be a 4th little one to join the Howell side at the end of July.  Greg and Kelley are having number two!  Peter will be a big brother and Anna will be a big cousin (I know Anna is crossing her fingers for a girl, she has NO girls to hang out with on the Howell side).

On Saturday Mike and I both got out a little without kids (and without each other) thanks to Pa & Toots.  I enjoyed my lunch with the girls and Mike enjoyed going shooting and seeing Airplane in the theater.  We headed to church on Saturday night and I really enjoyed the sermon.  It really spoke to me about how less is more and how to juggle life in this crazy world.  As much as I love my two kids and my new job this year, it has been a struggle for me to juggle it all this year.  I'm now on the downward slide towards summer, so of course things are looking up here!  My goal is just to start enjoying right now and always remember it all gets done somehow or another.  I don't want to wish my days away, I want to enjoy the moment!

Today was just a typical Sunday.  I headed to the grocery store and we did some work around the house.  My wonderful husband has been doing load after load of laundry and folding it all!  I've been trying to put it all away.  I've haven't been staying up with the laundry during the week these days, which leads pile after pile for the weekends.  Mike also went and bought our Toy Story 3 on Ice tickets today.  We are taking Drew (and maybe Anna) to the show at the end of March.  We are going to surprise Drew, we can't wait to see his face when he sees what is in store for him!

The kids and I also got in a trip to the Great Mall, which Drew loves.  He gets to run and play and mom gets to do a little shopping.  I was on a mission to get Anna a tutu for her birthday picture and party.  I found one on clearance for 8 dollars.  Now I just need to shirt or onesie to go with it.  She's going to be so darn cute!  I have also started working on Anna's birthday invitations.  We aren't going to do two HUGE parties for her like we did for Drew's first birthday.  I'm going with the theme of less is more (she won't care either way so we might as well make it simple), but I am going to splurge on a few things like invitations and her outfit.

To top off the weekend I got quite a few things done for school while the kids napped.  It is always a good feeling getting things checked off the list!

So as you can see the weekend wasn't too exciting, but it was a good one.  It is always nice spending time at home and watching the kids play.

Happy 5 Years to Howell Family Dentistry

This past Friday (January 21st) was the 5 year anniversary of Howell Family Dentistry!  Wow has that time flown by or what?  I'm very proud of Mike's accomplishments in these 5 short years.  We have so much to be thankful for!  To many more successful years ahead!

Drew & Anna sledding for the first time ever!

Here comes daddy!
We finally got to take Drew (and Anna) for his first sledding experience.  Last year we only played in the snow and this year so far that is all he's been able to do.  I finally got my foot into a shoe and we ventured to the school down the street.  It has a slight hill which is good for a three year old.  Drew went down a few times, but really didn't care much about the sledding, which did not surprise us too much.  He would rather "make tracks" in the snow.  Anna also joined us for the outing.  We broke out the Bob jogging stroller, which did quite well in the snow (no surprise there).  Anna even sledded down the hill in my arms.  She barely cracked a smile the whole time, becasue she was all but pleased about being in a snow suit.  Anna just sat there and looked pretty darn mad about it.  It is nice know there is something out there that slows our little lady down.  She's a tornado most days and we may just have to put her in the snow suit if we need a break!
