We dyed our eggs a few days before Easter.  Everyone enjoyed it and Wyatt only smashed a handful of eggs!

Wyatt 4 years 7 months

Dear Wyatt,


We have really enjoyed this past month.  We've had a lot of good weather and you are outside whenever you can be.  You love riding your bike and scooter.  You have also been getting all your baseball stuff out and love hitting the ball and running the bases.  You can't wait for t-ball to start!

You love having friends over and meeting friends at the park.  I've really noticed you have better days when you get out and about.  At home you just want to watch movies or tv and struggle to get your toys out to play.  I think we'll be cutting down tv/movie time a lot this summer.  You will also love having Drew and Anna home to play with.  I just know 4 days of school next year will be so good for you.  You still LOVE school and are bummed when it isn't a school day.

You are a very confident little boy wherever you go.  You are very comfortable with your friends at school and may be a bit bossy from time to time.  You also will go up to just about anyone to play.  If we go to Drew or Anna's games you always find a friend to play with.  Sometimes those friends are siblings from the other teams. You also love going out on the soccer fields during half time so you can shoot on the goal.  We all love your outgoing personality, although no one else in our family seems to be quite as outgoing.

You love playing soccer in the entryway with Drew and Anna these days.  You always request to be on Drew's team and luckily your sister is fine with that.  You don't like starting the games until you are in full uniform though and Drew and Anna get a bit annoyed but do enjoy your enthusiasm.

You are funny boy Wyatt and everyone who meets you likes you.  We enjoy you so much!!!

Anna 9 years 1 month

Hello Anna Mae,

You've been 9 for a month now.  You are staying very busy these days.  Your soccer coach has asked you to play on the 2009 team in addition to your 2010 team.  You've done a few practices with them, but mainly just show up for the games.  I feel like this has helped boost your confidence on the field, you feel pretty special getting to play for two teams.    You played in a tournament early this month and both teams played and both teams won their divisions.  So you played in 8 games that weekend and did great.  We were so proud of you for working so hard and it was fun getting two medals!


Gymnastics is going ok, you have been wanting to quit so we plan to finish out hte month and give you a break for awhile (or forever if you choose).  You are in a hard place with gymnastics.  Most girls in your class that are your age tried out for team and will go that route.  You'd like to do that, but with soccer you just can't do both.  So your two hour gymnastics class is getting younger and younger and a bit too easy for you at times.  So we will step back and decide your future in gymnastics after a while.  You may decide to take a floor only class if you go back at all.

Volleyball is going great.  Your team has won a few games and your serves are getting better and better.  You now get more serves over than not these days and you are a great bumper!  You really enjoy volleyball.

School is good and you are sad that 3rd grade is almost over!  You love your teacher and you are really enjoying having Leah in class this year.  You and Leah have become quite the good buddies this year.  You two spend a lot of time together between soccer, volleyball and gymnastics.

I'm also sad to think you are almost done with 3rd grade, 4th grade seems way too old for you!!!

Drew Boo is 11.5!

Happy Half Birthday to our biggest guy!  The funny thing is the day almost went by before we realized if was your half birthday.  You didn't require all the excitement Wyatt needed on his half birthday.

You have had a good month.  Life is busy with soccer, soccer, and more soccer.  You are playing 24 outdoor games and that doesn't include your tournament games.  You are enjoying soccer and look forward to your games.  Practice isn't your favorite, but you don't mind it too much.

School is starting to seem like it is winding down.  But you are definitely staying busy with different projects you are doing.  I've been helping out with the planning of  the 5th grade farewell lunch all school year and I can't believe it is almost time for you to graduate 5th grade.  Gosh it makes me just so darn sad!  Lots of tears coming this next 1.5 months of school!

It is fun watching you get bigger and you are able to do so much yourself these days.  You have been so responsible with what you need for school and getting yourself ready each day, packing your water bottle and lunch when needed.  It is crazy how quickly you've become quite  self sufficient.  Now I won't get too carried away, because you often need multiple reminders to get ready when you have a distraction like a tv in front of you  We've also seen some tween attitude from you, but that is all expected.  You are still our sweet boy who typically wants to please his parents.

Lately your favorite pastimes at home are playing soccer in the entry hallway with Anna and Wyatt.  You also are constantly keeping track of your pretend games on an app you have your iPad or in your notebook.  Your life is pretty much sports these days.  You do play a little PS4 but not too much because you aren't a fan of the newly updated Fortnite.  So there seems to be less chatting with friends since Fortnite isn't very fun these days.  You do like playing soccer or football on your PS4 though.
