Happy Halloween

Well 3rd time is charm! Drew got to actually go trick or treating this year! His first Halloween he was only weeks old and last year he wasn't walking yet so we didn't actually take him out. So the third time was a charm. Drew enjoyed getting his treats today.

We started the day hunting for a new pumpkin or two. The pumpkin we got a couple weeks ago must have had a crack in it. When I picked it up yesterday it was a bit rotten! There weren't many pumpkins to choose from, we had to get some small pumpkins meant for pumpkin pie at the grocery store. They were a little tough to carve!

Drew wasn't too interested in the whole carving idea. He wasn't impressed with the insides of the pumpkins. Once we cut the pumpkins open and he saw the insides he was out. He was playing while Mike and I carved away. Drew became more interested once we were finished carving.




After Drew's poor attempt to nap we made our grandparent rounds. Drew ended up playing in his bed for an hour or two (which is very unlike him it has happened 2 or 3 other times in his lifetime). We stopped by my mom's and Bob's (Ma & Pa) first and luckily showed up the same time Celia and Dean were visiting. We got some cute pics of Old McDonald (Drew), Dragon (Celia), and Pea in a Pod (Dean).



We then went my Mike's grandma's house and Mike's parents (Pa & Toots). Drew wasn't very into wearing his full costume at any of our stops. We got some pictures, but we didn't many great ones of him in his full costume. Oh well, that is life with a two year old!



When we got home we ate a quick dinner and went up and down our block. Drew started getting the hang of it and said a few "trick or treats" and many "thank yous." Once we were done trick or treating we stayed outside in the front yard and passed out candy. Drew loved passing out candy and running around and kicking the leaves in our yard and driveway.


We just finished our evening with some Toy Story (Drew's newest favorite movie, he asks for it numerous times through out the day) and running to the door as soon as Patton barked (she has been letting us know someone was coming before the doorbell rang).

We just now turned out our front lights (9:07 pm) and it is time for Drew to take a bath and head to bed! What a fun filled day!

Some Drew Sayings...

Drew has been putting sentences together for quite some time. It is amazing how much he says and then what he says blows us away and keeps us laughing!

Here are some of his latest sayings and thoughts (some are not always so nice)....

-Stop it Mom or Stop it Dad
-No talking (he typically tells me this when we are driving to daycare during the week)
-Sleep tight (he told me this when I put him to bed the other night, I always say this to him)
-Not funny (he does say it in context when we might be laughing at or with him, but he also says it when it really doesn't make sense)
-Not yet (he uses this when he doesn't want to do what we've asked)
-Little bit (usually this is tacked on to play (blank) for little bit?, he uses it as a question) I think he's heard us say it far too many times!
-See you leter (later)
-Yeah we made it! (he is now saying this every time we arrive at our destination)
-Franklin sad, I hug Franklin, Franklin's dad hug him (he was watching a Franklin episode and was very concerned that Franklin was sad)
-1, 2, 3, 4, OINK (we were reading a book and he was counting the animals...we are working on one to one correspondence, he got to 4 and then the 5th animal was a pig so he said "oink" instead of "five")
-Wait a minute (he uses this one to stall when he doesn't want to do something)
-Doin Mom or Doin dad (he loves asking what we are doing)
-How come? (we get this quite a bit and in context, I know one day it will be "why")
-Today as I was leaving for work I told Drew to take care of daddy and he responded "I will"
-Good boy mom or good boy Pat (he likes to call me and our female dog boys)
-I asked him if mom was a girl or a boy and he told me "girl", I then asked him what daddy is and he said "a dentist"
-When Drew is asked to do something he may not want to do, he has said "I too little" a couple times (great excuse, but it doesn't always make a lot of sense)

A Little Confused...

Apparently Drew thinks he has a baby in his tummy just like mommy! He has also asked daddy where his baby is. So in his eyes we all have babies in our tummies. I wonder if he'll be upset when we only bring one baby home in March.

He's seems to be quite interested in his baby sister. I've tried to tell him she is his baby too, but whenever I talk about "his baby" his shirt goes up and he points to his tummy.

He had thrown a toy to me earlier today and hit my stomach so I told him to be careful because he got his baby sister. He came over lifted my shirt and hugged the baby.

Tonight when he lifted his shirt to show me his baby he wanted to bump tummies. I'm not sure where he gets these ideas but they are awfully funny!

Grandma Toots had a birthday party!

I won't disclose Grandma Toots' age, but she hit a big milestone this past week. We enjoyed celebrating with her last night!

T-Ball

We got Drew's t-ball set out yesterday and he had a great time! He bats both right and left, but tends to d0 better when batting right handed. It was such a pretty day yesterday that we had to take advantage of the weather.

Exciting News!

We have a new baby in our family! Greg and Kelley's baby boy came into this world Sunday, October 18th at 7:44 pm. He was 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 19.5 inches long. His name is Peter Riley. Mike was able to meet his nephew in the hospital on Monday, but both Drew and I haven't had the chance to meet him yet. We are hoping to meet him this weekend. We can't wait to see Drew and Peter grow up together and enjoy the boy stuff together with their daddies! It will also be fun seeing Peter and our baby girl together because they will be about 5 months apart.

Pumpkin Patch

We enjoyed a very cold trip to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. This year we tried Schaake Pumpkin Patch and it was a fun place! There were quite a few sights to see and activities to do. We met Julie, Kyle, Celia, Matt, Janet, and Mark there. We didn't quite expect it to be as cold as it was. Luckily we had enough warm gear and we made it through the visit without freezing too much!
