Wyatt 4 years 8 months

Dear Wyatt,

You have been a busy boy. School is going well and you still love going every single day.  I had your conference last month and I was a little nervous about what I might hear from your teacher.  It was a pretty darn good report.  You are a very bright boy and Mrs. Wilson said she can tell you have a love of learning. You always participate and get really excited about learning new things.  She said you are definitely a leader and a boy who is liked by all.  You are a confident boy.  She said you do need reminders to stay on task but it doesn’t take much to redirect you.  She also said she can tell you know the difference between her and the assitanct teacher Mrs. Loepp.  You try and push the limits with Mrs. Loepp and you do things you would never try with Mrs. Wilson.  Stinker!

T-ball practices have started.  You love going and dad has been the one taking you.  On your first practice you told dad and I that you wanted dad and drew to take you.  Dad said you were a little reserved and quiet at your first practice.  You did warm up a bit at the second practice.  We can’t wait to watch your games !

You have improved quite a bit in the poop department this past month.  The only catch is you fight me like crazy when it comes to pooping, but the second dad is home you poop like it is no big deal.  It is rather frustrating, but luckily you are making some improvements!

Hard to believe your school year is almost over!  You are super excited about summer but I know you are going to be bummed with school is out!

We love you Wy!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Anna 9 years 2 months

Dear Anna

So many updates this month.  You got chosen to read your Kindness Kansas Citian Essay in an all school assembly.  You wrote your essay about your old gymnastics coach, Savannah.  It was so fun that Savannah came to school and got to be part of the assembly with you.  I was so impressed how well you read your essay up in front of the school. Such a brave girl!

You went on a field trip to the zoo last month.  I got to go with you and we lucked out on a really nice day.  It is so fun seeing you interact with all your buddies and you were so excited to have me tag along.  I’m going to enjoy that as long as I can.

Volleyball has been so much fun this season.  You finally have your underhand serve down.  You are very consistent!  You continue to amaze us with your bumps and how you go after the ball. You pick up that volleyball at home all the time these days and are constantly working on your serves.  When you aren’t serving the ball you are kicking a soccer ball.  You have gone a bit soccer crazy this month.  You come home from soccer practice or a soccer game and start kicking the ball around.  You and Drew LOVE playing soccer together in our front entryway (not exactly ideal). Wyatt also loves to play soccer with you guys and all three of you can play for hours with very little arguing. You’ve really taken some big strides in soccer this past month.  You are a beast at practices and sometimes in games.  For some reason you are more comfortable destroying your own teammates over the teams you play.  We are still encouraging you to get more aggressive during games.  Your footwork is great and you are fun to watch!

School is going great.  You keep telling me you don’t want third grade to end, you love Mrs. Brown!  I don’t want you moving on to 4th, that sounds way too old!

We love you Anna Mae and this next month will be a busy one!

Drew 11 years 7 months

Dear Drew,

Your school year is coming to an end quickly.  You’ve been busy with school.  Lots of end of the year projects and field trips.  I got to go on your field trip to KU’s campus.  It was fun going to the Natural History Museum, I had no idea there were so many cool things to see right on campus.  We also got to go to Allen Field House.  I loved being able to experience it with you. I think you had a great time, even though you aren’t a KU fan.  In fact, you did plan to wear your KSU shirt on the day of the field trip…I did put a stop to that.

Soccer is keeping you very busy.  Most weekends you have 3 games.  You are always ready to play and are enjoying the chance to play on the larger fields along with your typical field for your age group.

I brought you lunch the other day for the last time in elementary school.  I hear it isn’t very cool to have your parents join you for lunch in middle school. Dad and I are pretty lucky that right now you still love having us show up for things at school and you never mind having us hang out with you and your buddies!

You also had your last field day this month.  I’m going to miss coming up and seeing you participate in field day.  Pretty sure you will miss it too, it is one of your favorite days of the year!  As we go through this next month I know there will be some emotional days for you and for dad and I.  We love watching you change and grow, but it is also hard seeing you pass through these milestones at what seems like record speed.

We love you buddy!
Love,
Mom and Dad
