Another Weekend has come and gone...

We had a great weekend, but of course it went way too fast! We enjoyed strolling through the Plaza Art Fair on Friday with both kids . It was a bit too busy for a double stroller. Yesterday we went to Chic Fil A for breakfast and then hung out at home during the day. Last night we met the newest little member on Mike's side of the family....Sam Loumaster. It is amazing how much bigger Anna seemed. Today we had Pa, Toots, Clint, baby Sam. Kelley, and Peter over for the Chiefs game. What a fun game!

The biggest news of the weekend is Anna if officially crawling! Yeah baby girl, although we wouldn't have minded if you would have waited a couple more months. She started moving big time last night and has continued today. She can be fast if she's after something. We have already had to block the kitchen so she won't face plant on the wood floor. Fun times fun times! She also did pull herself up to her knees when Drew drove by in his ride on toy. Let's hope she sticks with sitting and crawling for now!

Here are a ton of pictures from the last few days:

Fall Festivities

Last weekend we hit the Midwest Balloon Fest and The Bed Barn Apple Orchard. It was a bit of a bust though. We went to the balloon fest and didn't see one balloon (the balloons had launched earlier that morning, but we still thought we'd see some around on the ground to look at). We went to the apple orchard and only picked ONE apple off the trees. The orchard also wasn't running its tractor that morning and the horses weren't giving rides either. The apple crop wasn't so good this year and a storm had gone through the night before so they weren't running the tractor or horses in the mud. Even though it wasn't what we expected we still had a nice time! The Taylors joined us at the apple orchard and the kids enjoyed playing together!

Happy baby girl!

Up and Ready

Anna is about ready to crawl! Ahhhhh! Anna kept getting up on her hands and knees tonight and would push forward and fall flat on her face. She didn't care, she just kept trying, she's a stubborn one!

Watching big bro!
Life is about to change!
Uh oh! She's almost on the move!

Anna's 6 month stats

Mike took Anna for her 6 month check up today.

Weight: 17 lbs. 6 ounces (75th percentile - down from the 90th percentile)
Length: 26.5 inches (76th percentile - down from the 80th percentile)
Head circumference: 17 inches (75th percentile - stayed the same)

The doctor told Mike that when Anna gets up to eat in the middle of the night it is just for comfort (yes I already figured that) and it is time to start finding another way to comfort her. We'll see what happens! No promises! It isn't like I love getting up at night, but boy is it easier just to feed her than listen to cry forever!

Anna is doing great! She's way ahead of the game on the sitting up and moving around. Go baby girl!

Anna also started using a cup this week. She knows just what to do with it. What a smarty pants!

Happy Half Birthday!!!

You love your feet!

Dear Anna,

Wow you are half a year old! I can’t believe our baby is half way to one. How did that happen? Your daddy and I hardly remember life with out, but then again it seemed like you just got here. At first I was worried I wouldn’t have anything to write about this month. I feel like I hardly get to see you now that school is back in session, but the more I thought about it the more I realized you have accomplished so much this month!

You are sitting up on your own for a few minutes at a time. You have even caught yourself when you've tipped to one side or the other. You still topple over from time to time, but you are getting there.

You are also eating your solids like a champ. You love food! The whole time you are eating you make noises. It is so cute. You also watch everyone else eat and start moving your mouth. You take two bottles a day while I’m gone at work and you are now taking 5 ounces of milk in each bottle. You are still eating about every 4 hours or so during the day. Most days you have one or two meals of solids. You can easily eat a whole container of baby food from the store or one or two cubes of food I’ve made for you. You’ve had rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, bananas, butternut squash, and peas. So far you’ll eat anything we give you. We also tried puffs for the first time yesterday. You liked them!

Puffs for the first time...you weren't too sure at first.

Yummy Puffs!

You nap great most days for everyone. I was all worried about you needing to be swaddled when you weren’t with me, and of course I worried about nothing. We get nothing but great reports from Toots, Stacey, and Ma each week. You are such a joy to watch they tell us. You just smile all day long.

You had your first haircut this past week. Your hair was looking a little mullet-like, so I just had to trim it! You were a little wiggly so I did the best I could.

Before your first trim.

After your first trim...much cuter!

Your brother has started getting a little rough with you and you sometimes take while other times you start crying at the littlest thing. It won’t be long until you start fighting back!

Oh and you are scooting around in circles. You don’t go forwards or backwards, you just move in a circle if you want something that is behind you.

You are still not sleeping through the night. You went about 5 days or so this past month of sleeping through the night in a row. I thought we were there, but since then you've been wanting to hang out once a night. Hopefully I'm not creating a monster, but at the same time you eat quickly and go right back to sleep. I don't really want to hear you cry for hours and hours at night and then get up for work (we tried the crying it out before I headed back to work and you cried and cried for at least an hour before we gave in each time). Let's just hope the sleeping thing will be happening soon! PLEASE!

You are into everything you can get your hands on. You grab anything and everything in your reach . Somehow you manage to get all over the family room when we put you in one spot. You scoot a bit and you roll a bit and somehow you end up all over the place. Just wait until you get the crawling down...our lives will be even more nuts!

We can't wait to see what next month brings. Maybe you'll be crawling. You are such a joy and we just love your sweet smiles. You make our lives just that much better. We are so lucky to be your mommy and daddy!

We love you Anna Gananas!
