Another weekend

Drew in time out (just kidding). His new thing is getting into Patton's cage.

A little preview of Halloween.

We have had a good weekend. The time has flown of course! We did a lot of errand running to get ready for the upcoming events. We got some supplies we needed for Drew's birthday parties. We also went to Walls of Clay to make a birthday plate for Drew. Once we get it back we'll have to take a pic and post it. I have known families who have a special plate they use on birthdays and I took that idea and changed it a bit. Drew's plate says "Happy Birthday Drew" we included his handprint. We thought it would be fun to use every year and then we can see how the size of his hand changes.

On Friday night we went to the Shawnee BBQ and we got to sample Cousin Clint's ribs, they were awesome. We ran into several different friends at the BBQ and it was fun catching up with everyone!

Today Drew and I went shopping while Mike watched the game. I don't know how much longer Drew will be a good shopping partner. He was getting quite restless. My days are probably numbered! One of these days he'll tell me he'd rather watch the game with Daddy than come with me. That will make me sad! I need a little girl one of these days! We were shopping for some outfits for our upcoming pictures we have scheduled for next weekend.
Hopefully Drew will smile at the camera, so far that hasn't really happened!

OH MY.....

"Oh My"

Silly boy!

We have learned something new! Drew was grabbing his cheeks today so I did the same and kept saying "oh my." So now (or should I say most of the time) when I say "oh my" he grabs his cheeks. I got some pictures and a video. I love this age, he is starting to repeat a lot of things. We better watch what we say and do around him!

Here are a few more "oh my" pictures:

Seinfeld, Balloons, Cars, and Apples...

Do you see all four of my teeth?

We have had a very fun weekend. We have been on the go since I got home from work on Friday afternoon. Mike and I had a date night on Friday, we dropped Drew off at my mom's and we went to Seinfeld with Dustin and Amy. It was a lot of fun and he had us laughing the whole time.

On Saturday we met Mike's cousin,Clint and his wife, Lacey at Red Robin for some lunch. The big highlight for Drew was the balloon. After lunch Lacey, Drew, and I headed to Babies R Us for some registering. Clint & Lacey are expecting a baby boy at the end of December, and Lacey needed some help getting the registry started. It was fun looking at all the new baby gear, there are so many new things since we registered, which of course was barely over a year ago! Crazy!
Got my balloon!

On Saturday night we went to Winsteads for the monthly car show. Mike drove his dad's car and Drew and I met him there. My mom and Bob came in their car and it was a fun evening. The weather was beautiful!

This morning we woke up and headed to Weston for some apple picking! It was a great day. We met the Taylors and the Burlesons there. We had 4 babies/toddlers among us and all of them seemed to enjoy themselves. Poor Drew missed his morning nap, we thought maybe he'd sleep on the way out there, but he didn't. So he slept on the way home and is now sleeping some more in his crib. After we gathered all of our apples we went into "town" and grabbed some lunch at the Weston Cafe.

It has been a great weekend. There are quite a few fun activities going on in the upcoming weeks. We might try going to the Apple Fest in Weston and we'll be making a trip to a pumpkin patch, so Drew can pick out his own pumpkin this year. I can't wait for the weather to cool down permanently so we can start enjoying the fall!

Mullet and rat tail NO MORE!!!!

Drew has had his first official hair cut. He has needed a trim in the back and around the ears desperately! So we finally gave it a try. After Drew's bath tonight Mike went for it and I got to snip some too. If you haven't tried to cut a moving baby/toddler's hair I'd say put it on your list of things to try. What a challenge. So...don't expect much, but the hair is shorter and that was the hope!

Oh and one more piece of news....Drew's 4th tooth cut through the gums today! So far teething hasn't been much of an issue for our little guy! We are very lucky. If I can ever get a picture of his teeth, I'll post. Drew now has his two top and bottom teeth.

Weekend and the lake

Aren't I a cutie?

Happy Drew

We spent the weekend at the lake. We left after I got home from work on Friday and got there about 9 that night. Drew had fallen asleep in the car at 8:30 and when we got to the lake he woke up and played for a bit. He was not a fan of sleeping, so he fought it and fought it and finally got to sleep sometime near 11. So needless to say he was a tired boy the next day. He decided to take a 3 and a half hour nap on Saturday.
Asleep in the car (a little dark, I didn't use a flash).

The lake is up quite a bit (see the mailboxes).

We went to a car show, walked around and shopped a bit, and then went to get some pizza for dinner. Drew was able to get some good sleep on Saturday night! We hung out a bit on Sunday and packed up and headed home.

Getting my daddy!
Sharing my dinner with dad.

Today was back to work. Drew has been crawling like crazy. He now rarely army crawls and prefers the typical crawl. He is a very fast crawler. He is still pulling up whenever possible and cruising around. Drew knows the word "no" and he stops what he is doing when he hears it. But he always seems to throw a slight fit and make an disgusted face, we don't have one on camera, but I'll have to try and capture it sometime!

The other day in the car, I handed Drew his shoe to play with (shoes are more of a toy right now, since he isn't walking) and he tried to put it on his foot. That was fun to see, he is learning things all the time. Tonight we were upstairs putting some laundry away and Drew kept closing the doors and then he would cry. I guess he didn't quite get that he was the reason the door was closed. We still have a few things to work on.

Not so happy.

New game.

11 Months old today

11 months old today

Check out the tongue

We are almost to a year! I can't believe it! Drew has changed a lot this month. He is much more active. He doesn't want to be held or cuddled, he wants down and wants to crawl, pull up, cruise, and climb. He has his own mind and agenda and you better not get in his way! Of course he is still very sweet and is so adorable, just very busy! He has also dropped a bottle, he's down to three a day and the goal is to be done with bottles around his birthday. It may be harder for me than him to let go of the bottle. No bottles=big boy, that makes me sad! I want him to stay a baby forever, I have a feeling his first birthday is going to be a little hard on me!

Here are some pics taken in the last couple of days! I'll be updating again soon, we are headed to the lake for the weekend.
