New Car!
We traded the Escalade in at the end of the year for a brand new Yukon XL! We've never owned a brand new car so this was pretty exciting and we love it!
We will miss the Escalade it has been good to us. We brought Wyatt home from the hospital in in and we also hit a deer while it in and we all escaped without a scratch.

Wyatt - 28 months
Dear Wyatt,
Happy 28th month buddy! What a HUGE month for you!!! I think I can safely say you are pretty much potty trained (it has only been a week - we started on the afternoon of January 5th). The decision to potty train you was made on a whim after reading a potty training book a friend told me about, but I went with it and you were a champ from the start! I can't say I have the best track record on potty training so I didn't have high expectations. Daddy and I are more than amazed by how well you are doing. You are also so young still, not even 2.5 yet. You don't always initiate when you have to go, but I make sure I get you to the potty about every hour. You had 1.5 days at home before we got you out and about and you did great at all the daily activities. On the 7th (daddy's birthday) we had 3 games. I was nervous about all the public restrooms but you do great. Pooping is still a work in progress. You aren't pooping as often as you did when you are in diapers so we are keeping a close eye on you so it doesn't become an issue. You are still wearing diapers and nap and bed time and will for a while. For one, you are still in your crib and I have no intention on moving you to a big boy bed for a very long time!!!!
In other news you had a really fun Christmas this year. You really liked the idea of Santa (although you'd didn't want him anywhere near you). You loved opening presents and you became quite the pro. You also loved having the big kids home with you for two weeks during winter break. You were bummed when they went back to school. You love hanging with Drew while he plays PS4 and you and Anna play school all the time together. You just love your big bro and sister and of course they adore you and tell me how cute you are all the time (they also get a bit annoyed when you get into your stuff).
Your talking is coming along. You are definitely putting several words together. Not everyone knows what you are trying to say but daddy, drew, Anna, and I usually do. I'm still keeping a close eye on your word count and will touch base with Infant Toddler Services this spring.
You are getting a little easier in some ways lately. You can entertain yourself very well like you always have and you do go off and find trouble from time to time, but you have started to listen a little better. I recently took the pac-n-play down in my bathroom and I can pretty much trust you to behave while I'm taking a shower and you are free to roam in the bathroom. You don't always listen, but if I'm quick you can do it. You do sneak off upstairs a lot when we are home. We keep the big kids doors closed and they have a little child safety lock on the outside so you can't get it. If they leave a door open you beeline in there and get into all their little toys. You are a stinker, but I do feel like you are getting better about being safe....most of the time at least!
We love you so much and you make us laugh on a daily basis. What a blessing you are to our family. Daddy and I love that you are our little boy!

Anna Mae 6 years 10 months
Dear Anna,
Another month has gone by. You have had a good month. You really enjoyed your time at home during winter break. You could hibernate all winter at home if we let you. I love how you can entertain yourself for days at home. You spent plenty of time playing school, dress us, playing with Wyatt, and working on your new craft projects you got for Christmas.
Soccer and basketball just got started again. You have had your first basketball game and you got 4 points. It was the most fun watching you and your team. You guys played the other SPE team so it was fun seeing you have fun with your teammates and your opponents. You still have a lot to learn about the game, but you had so much fun. You smiled and ran and ran some more. You weren't shy about grabbing the ball. We can't wait for you next game!
Soccer is going well. You can play pretty touch if you want to. I'm still working on getting you to run during the game. You run and then do a lot of walking around, you always say you are "tired" but I know you have a lot of energy! You have gotten so much more aggressive and I've seen a few fancy moves during your games, I love seeing your confidence grow! You are by far the tallest girl out their on your soccer team and basketball team and you are one of the younger ones too. We can always spot you as your tower over everyone!
School is going really well for you! You had a great 2nd quarter report card. You got all 3's except for handwriting (you got a 2). 3 is the best you can get. I have to say though your handwriting has improved so much this school year. You are writing smaller and have better control of your letters and numbers. You are a very smart little girl and daddy and I are so proud of you!
You are really quite the reader. I'm still working on getting you hooked on some chapter books. You can really read on your own, but you really want me to read to you. So we are working on this! I love reading with you, but I look forward to you taking off and wanting to read before bed (like big bro and mom). You are an amazing little speller, you typically know the spelling words before we practice but if you don't a word or two it doesn't take much studying before you get it right. Such a good gift to have.
So proud of our girl and daddy and I are so lucky you are our little girl. We love you so much and love that you keep up on our toes and you keep us laughing each month.

9 years 3 months
Dear Drew,
Here we go again, another month raced by. You enjoyed a nice winter break. You had fun being at home and not having to worry about school work or sports. It was nice having less structured time. You built your new legos, played PS4, played lots of football around the house, and played with Wyatt and Anna.
Basketball and futsal have started back up and you are doing great! You are such a little sports stud. Daddy and I love watching you excel at sports. You put everything into every game and work hard! You typically average about 8-10 points per basketball game and you only play 1/2 the game for the most part. Your coach is very fair about playing time for everyone, which is good. In your last couple soccer games you've done a lot of scoring. Your footwork looks amazing as always.
Since school has started back up you are doing great. You had a good 2nd quarter report card, all A's again. Way to go buddy! You have just recently passed all your multiplication and division timed test -such a math brainiac!
Dad and I still stop ourselves from time to time we both have recently said something about you being 8....and then we catch ourselves. How is it that you are 9 already? You are growing up so fast and I've noticed a lot that you really like your independent play time and you love having friends over and going over to friends' houses. But as much as you act like you really don't need us, you also absolutely love special time with daddy and I. You still come up and want to snuggle and love having time to talk to us. We are lucky we have such an amazing kid to raise. We love you Drew and look forward to what this next month brings!
