Anna - 7 years 3 months

Dear Anna,

First grade has ended  and it is hard believe how fast that year sped by.  You are just about a second grader!

We are off to a busy summer!  You have just started swim team, your new summer gymnastics class, and you are playing softball.  You had soccer try-outs earlier this month and you made the Academy team.  You are really excited and daddy and I are very proud of you.  We can't wait to watch you play this year and see all the new stuff your coach will be teaching you.

You are enjoying some free time at home.  You love having time to get your toys out.   You are still making huge messes left and right, but it is amazing how your entertain yourself so well.  We've started a chore chart for the summer and you are not impressed.  In fact, you need many reminders to work on it.  You are not about to start working the chart unless you told to.

We are still working hard to find the right books for you to read.  You can read just about anything I give you, but you don't like reading.  I'm sure we just haven't found the right book to grab your attention.  You like shorter books with pictures, chapter books seem to not interest you in all.  You think they are "boring."  I hope one day you'll share my love of reading...although I'm pretty sure I didn't enjoy reading a ton at your age either.

We are looking forward to this time with you summer!

Love you so much,

Mom and Dad

Wyatt 2 years 9 months

Dear Wyatt,

You are only 3 months out from your next birthday!  You are growing and changing so much.  Your speech is getting so much better and you repeat so much more recently.  You are talking a ton and sometimes it takes us a while to figure out what your are saying, but you keep pushing through trying to tell us.

You absolutely love trucks!  You point out all kinds of trucks as we drive about.  You get so excited to see those trash trucks especially.  It is so funny!  You also LOVE motorcycles (you call them "mo mo bikes").

You are still doing a great job with naps.  Your naps are about 1.5 to 2 hours each day.  You go to bed about 8:00 and wake up between 7:15 and 8.  So sleep is going well for you!  Eating is good some days and not so good on other days.  You still love your snacks!

A favorite saying lately is "Oh man!"  It is the funniest thing to hear you say and you typically say it in the correct context.

I haven't been very good about keeping notes these past few months, so hopefully I'll have more updates this next month.

Love you buddy,

Mom and Dad

Drew 9 years 8 months

Dear Drew,

You've been enjoying your summer so far!  School is out and you are loving your free time.  Still can't believe your third grade year is over!!!

You have been playing lots of baseball and just had soccer try-outs.   We found out you made the Legends Pre-Academy boys team.  We are so proud of you!  You now have a bit of a break from soccer until July/August.  Swim team has also started and you aren't completely sure you like it yet.  It is a lot of work and your practices are very early!  I'm looking forward to seeing how your first meet goes in a couple of days.

You are a very social boy and are always asking to have friends over.  You are also a lucky boy and get invited over to friends' houses quite a bit.  You are living up your days that your buddy, Max is still in town.  He will probably be moving to Chicago before the summer is up.  It is going to be rough when he does move.

I'm looking forward to this next month of lazy days, baseball games, and time at the pool!

We love you buddy,

Mom & Dad
