A Little Pre-Halloween Fun!

Halloween gets more each year as the kids get older.  The kids got to enjoy their costumes a few times before the actual big day.

Conference Time

This past week I had conferences with my students' parents.  Conference time is usually busy and sometimes a bit stressful.  Schedules have to rearranged for not only me, but Mike and the kids.  So it really isn't my favorite time, but this year there was an added bonus...Mike and I got to the be the parents at the conference.  It was so strange being on the other side of the table.  I really enjoyed going and talking about our sweet boy for 30 minutes.  It gives me a whole different perspective and I think makes me a better teacher at the same time.  Luckily Drew got a wonderful report from his teacher, Miss Stacey!  It is fun hearing what other people think of your child (especially if it is good)!  He is very quiet in class and ALWAYS follows the rules...sometimes we wondered if we were talking about the same boy.  He's coming along with the academics and is right on track.  We will continue to work on letters, numbers, and cutting.  I am so impressed with all the neat things Drew gets to do at school and he's got a great teacher, we are so lucky!  Way to go Drew!!!  I also LOVE the fact my boy is right down the hall!

Flag Football

Drew just finished his 3 week season of Bitty Flag Football.  He had a great time and loved going to football each time.  His favorite part was the chasing, he wanted to be chased and chase others.  He picked up on some of the rules, but overall football for Drew and his team was a work in progress.  He did a good job listening most of the time, but at some points lost interest and would twirl on the field, wrestle with a friend, or make faces.  Anna also enjoyed football.  She ran off and on the field and tried to join the team a few times (she may just be playing flag football in a couple years).  During these last three weeks we've experience hot, cold and just right temperatures.  Drew wore shorts and sweated a couple times and then a couple other times we had him so bundled he could hardly move, you've gotta love Kansas weather!
