Dear Wyatt,
I may have to say that this has been our hardest month...you are definitely in the midst of the threeanger stage. Oh my! You are one stubborn boy. You fight us a lot when you are asked to do something. You are also big into the talking back, but your saving grace is your cuteness and your little sense of humor. You have us laughing through it all! Daddy and I don't remember going through a stage like this with Drew and Anna, you are a different kiddo. You are definitely challenging us.
Your speech is getting better each day. You surprise with new words you know all of the time. You do still get very upset when we don't understand what you are saying.
You spend your time at home playing with your trash truck, legos, little cars and trucks, and lego guys. You play school with Anna quite a bit too. You love wrestling Drew when he's home. Most days after we drop the big kids off at school you immediately say, "I miss Drew and Anna." It is pretty sweet! Lately you have picked up on when the kids are talking to you like you are little and they are big and you don't like it . You seem to think you are an equal and not quite a bit younger than they are.
School is going well for you. Some days you can't wait to go and other days you tell me "school is boring." Once you get there you always have a great time. You are about done with soccer for this session and we are going to take a break and try gymnastics again. Soccer is fun, but you didn't love it this time. You struggled to follow the rules and liked tackling the coach more than going after the ball. I don't think your coach enjoys the 3 and 4 year old age, so we may try again down the road with a different coach.
We are looking forward to this next month as we celebrate Thanksgiving and get into the Christmas Season. You are already very excited about Santa (you call him "Ho Ho").
We love you and enjoy watching you grow, we are hoping with each month the threeanger stage gets a little easier!

Anna 7 years 8 months
Dear Anna,
You had another great month. You have been busy with gymnastics, soccer, and a little bit of Girl Scouts. You had your Turkey Trot Gymnastics Meet and you did great. You had fallen off the bars in practice a couple times and you ended up very scared of the bars, but you worked through it and did great at the meet. Daddy and I are so proud of you for pushing through and being brave!
Soccer is going well. You really like indoor soccer. You seem a bit more confident on the indoor field and you love scoring goals!
You had a bike safety event with girl scouts and you had a blast. You learned some safety facts and then went on a trail ride with your troop. You loved it!
In your free time you are playing school, riding your bike outside, playing with your LOL dolls, asking to paint everyone's nails at our house (you talked daddy and I into it the other day). You also like writing in your notebook and coloring. You are starting to read your chapter books with less push from me lately. Although there is an incentive...you get a new LOL doll after you finish two books.
We got a great report from your teacher at conferences. You are a great student and follow directions. You do well in all subject and you are a sweet girl to all. Daddy and I are very proud of you! We just wonder sometimes how you hold still so well at school....you are the biggest wiggle worm at home!!! But you wouldn't be our Anna if you weren't wiggling all over!

Drew 10 years 1 month
Dear Drew,
You've been 10 for a month! You are growing up so fast. You get more mature each day. School is going well and so are sports. You are busy with soccer and basketball. It is fun watching you get back into basketball, You start games next month and you can't wait. You've been spending some of your time shooting baskets on the driveway. Dad had to raise the basketball goal to 10 feet, sure sign of getting big!
You talk about and play football a lot. You play at recess and you are constantly playing at home and recording your scores in your notebook daily. You love checking your fantasy football scores. You have also started up your basketball tournaments, you are drawing bracket after bracket on computer paper.
School is going well. We had your conference and we couldn't have asked for a better report from your teacher. She said you are a great kid, get along with everyone and include everyone. How awesome is that? You are also a great student and are especially amazing in math. Talk about a proud moment for dad and I - we love hearing what a great kid you are...although we already knew it!

Halloween
The day before Halloween the kids and I carved pumpkins. No one in the family can stand the pumpkin guts so somehow carving and cleaning out the pumpkins falls on my lap. I made the kids get a bit more involved this year and they didn't care for it. Anna did more of the cleaning out the guts than either boys did. I had the kids draw a picture of what they wanted and we went to work. I did the carving, but next year I think I will leave it up to them to carve!
I made the mistake of putting the pumpkin down for a minute and Patton really enjoyed it!
