Anna Mae,
You have officially graduated kindergarten and started your summer. Busy busy month! You are loving summer so far. You love hanging around the house and playing, going swimming, and playing with friends. You are just such a happy girl!
This summer we had two goals for you, one was tie your shoes and one was ride your bike without training wheels. Well you pretty much taught yourself (I showed you a couple times) how to tie your shoes before school got out and the first officially week day of summer break you decided to ride your bike without training wheels. Daddy took off the training wheels and held on to you for a while and you weren't really doing all that great. Daddy sat down to take a break and I helped for a bit, but when I was done you got on your bike on your own and took off. You can be so brave and determined. Daddy and I are just so proud of you! This teaching yourself to do things reminds me of when you decided to potty train yourself!
So far you've been to one Camp DeCastro session (camp at Mrs. DeCastro's house with all your kindergarten buddies) and you also went to a 4 day Frozen Camp with Brooke. You loved your time with Brooke and enjoyed the camp most of the days. So far this summer you seem to the be the family fish. You could spend all day at the pool and never get tired of swimming. You are very confident in the pool and I love watching you jump in, do handstands, and paddle around. You just started your private swimming lessons with a teacher named, Megan. You really like her and are working hard on strokes with her. You are also working hard to swim from one end of the pool to the other and you are determined! You've recently said you want to be an Olympic swimmer (I can't wait to watch the Olympics this summer with you).
You've started your new pre-competitive gymnastics class. You didn't love it, because it was hard work you said. I definitely noticed it being less fun and games and more of a workout. I think this will be good for you, but I'm not sure you are going to like it a whole lot now!
Softball is going well you typically have no problem hitting the coach pitched ball, you may have had to use the tee once this season (not bad at all)! You don't love softball, but you seem to be proud of yourself after you hit the ball. You usually find me in the stands after you've hit the ball and made a run. I'm pretty sure you like hearing "good job." You really like when the grandparents comes and watch you.
Right now we are in Florida and you are loving every second of the ocean (and the pool of course).
We are looking forward to another month of summer with you and watching you grow.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

21 months
Dear Wy,
Happy 21 months! It has been a big month for you! The biggest news if you are officially done nursing. I don't really remember the last day you nursed since you were just nursing here and there. I'm not really too sad about it and either are you, so I guess I can say it was successful we are both happy!
Sleep has been better for the most part, you do get up once or twice a week during the night but you easily go back to sleep once I go in and rock you. Naps are good, they are usually 1.5 hours to 2 hours. You go to bed at night about 8 or so and typically sleep until 7 or so. You are not the best eater these days unless we are eating pizza, tacos, or black beans. You do a lot of picking here and there at food, it can be a bit frustrating!
Florida- you loved the beach, but you were rather difficult when we were hanging out in the condo. It made me appreciate a somewhat childproof home we have. You don't do much sitting around you are up exploring and getting into everything constantly!
You are doing more repeating when it comes to words. I need to start taking notes on words you say unprompted. I can definitely tell you are behind peers, but you are trying. Hopefully this next month I take better notes and will have an updated list of words.
You started walking all bent over the this month and swinging your arm. Our neighbor, Christe said you looked like an old man. So we named this trick the "Old Man Shuffle." Whenever we ask you to do the old man shuffle you bend over and take off, so funny!
This month we've experienced a few terrible two type fits. You want to do so much all by yourself, even when you aren't equipped to do so. It is frustrating all around! It is a good think you are so stinking cute, it helps when you are throwing those fits!
We look forward to what this next month brings. It is fun watching you figure out new things! We love you so much buddy!
Love,
Mom and Dad

8 years 8 months
Dear Drew Boo,
You've had a great month. You've ended your second grade year and have had a great start to your summer! You are loving the lazier days of summer. You are busy with baseball. You've done a great job with hitting and have made some great plays in the field, overall you are having a great season. You did a 3 day baseball camp the other week. It was an ok camp, not your favorite. There are some other camps coming up that you are excited about.
We've been to the pool quite a few times and you've started some private swimming lessons. You are doing quite well, your teacher said you are about at the point you could start swim team if you wanted. Maybe next summer, so far you aren't too interested in the idea of swim team. You like the pool, but only if you have friends to swim with.
We've started a chore chart that includes work around the house and some school work. You like checking off each item as you finish. As the weeks have gone, you've become a little less interested. I may have to add some incentives to the chart, we'll see!
We are currently in Captiva, Florida and you are having a great time.
Looking forward to another month of summer! Daddy and I are loving watching you grow, although you are growing a bit too fast!
We love you buddy!
