Anna 7 years 10 months

Dear Anna girl,

Two more months until you are 8, yikes!!!!  You've had a great month.  You loved celebrating Christmas. You were excited to get your Little Live Pet Cat from Santa.  You also got some shoes, soccer ball on a string, Cutie Stix craft set, Zoomer Pony, lots of LOL dolls, and more.  You have enjoyed organizing your new toys and playing with them all.  You also got two big sets of Legos and you built one a couple days after Christmas and did great!  I was so impressed!

Soccer is going well, in fact you were on fire last weekend.  Your coach kept you in sub after sub as the defender because you were stopping almost every girl that came your way.  You also are doing so well with your soccer moves.  I absolutely love watching you!  One thing you need to work on is moving a bit faster, getting rid of the ball faster.  You can really work someone over with your moves though, so fun!  You are also loving gymnastics.  You are still working on back handsprings.  Basketball practices started up and you enjoyed them.  You missed your first game due to soccer, but you will play tomorrow.  You have such a huge smile on your face when you dribble up and down the court.  Daddy and I just love watching you do the stuff you love!

School is going well too.  You got amazing grades for your second quarter.  Your teacher says you are a great role model.  You are smart and a good friend and you also push yourself to learn more.  Daddy and I are proud of you!

You have had a really rough month with your best buddy, Elyse moving schools.  You are doing ok, but you miss her so much.  We have talked over and over how the two of you will still have playdates, and soon you'll be able to ride bikes to each other's house.  And then you heard they are going to move eventually.  So we are working through that, but they won't be far and you still get to play soccer with her and carpool to practice twice a week.  Luckily we've already had several play dates so you two are catching up constantly.  It is so hard sitting back and seeing you sad and I have no control over it!

We love you so much Anna Mae,

Wyatt 3 years 4 months

Dear Wyatt,

I'm happy to say that this month was much better behavior wise than last.  Maybe you are growing up a little.  I don't feel like it has been a constant struggle like it had been last month!  Yeah!!!

You had a wonderful Christmas, you loved everything about celebrating.  You had a Christmas list about 5 miles long and luckily had forgotten about most of those requests.  You were very sweet on Christmas morning when you opened presents, you would stop and thank daddy and I after each gift. You would say, "thank you mommy and daddy, you nice girl, you nice boy."  Although when you opened a board game (The Sneaky Squirrel) you said "I not like this, I not want this."

You wanted to open presents everywhere we went for a few days after Christmas.  You also wanted to open all your gifts and put together all the legos right away (or rather have daddy and I put them together so you could play with them).  You love the nerf gun you got and your Paw Patrol boat and characters.

You enjoyed your break from school and especially enjoyed having the big kids home to play with (and fight with).

You are still napping pretty strongly.  If you happen to miss a nap, you usually catch up the next day or two with sleeping in a bit or taking a longer nap.  Today you woke me up at 4:30 am with puke all over you and your bed.  You were so sad!  We got you cleaned up and back to bed and you haven't puked again soon.  When you woke up about 8, you called for me and pinned to your pillow and said, "I not throw up on it."  I told you good job and you said, "Thank you mommy"  and gave me a thumbs up.  You are too cute!  Looks like you've already turned the corner before nap you were eating and drinking.

You've made a few requests lately to have your crib turn into a big boy bed.  You want the rail off, but keep telling me you want the same bed just no front side.  You climbed out over break when you were having a time out in your bed, but I told you not to do it again and so far you haven't....

We need to think about when we want to do that.  I just fear your naps will stop when you are no longer in a crib.  Time will tell!

We look forward to this next month buddy!

We love you,
Mom and Dad

Drew 10 years 3 months

Drew,

This past month has been fun.  You enjoyed Christmas and your break from school.  You love just waking up and lounging in your pjs.  I think you could enjoy being home relaxing for days at a time.  You spent your break watching movies, playing football and basketball in the house, and playing PS4.  You played some soccer games and basketball games started during this past month.  You are doing well in both!  Daddy and I just love watching you.

In school you made it to the whole school spelling bee. Each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class got to send their top two spellers.  You are so excited and daddy and I are so proud.  The school spelling be was on January 9th, and you got 3rd place out of 18 kids.  The two that beat you were 5th graders.  Here are the words you were given during the spelling bee: fell, plane, craggy, manure, bookmobile, cipher/cypher, infraction, defensiveness, and then got out on Chesapeake.

It was so much fun watching you up on the stage.  You were so confident!

We love you Drew,

Mom and Dad
