We had a wonderful trip to Estes Park this year. Mike and Drew (followed by the Dawson family) headed out Tuesday night after work to drive to Goodland, KS and then wake up the next morning to meet the rest of us at the airport. I got to enjoy a "quick" trip to Denver by airplane with Anna and Wyatt. What should have been rather quick, ended up taking longer than expected. Our plane had a fuel gauge issue so we had to wait two extra hours for a new plane. So Mike & Drew got to Denver long before the rest of us got there.
these two were so excited to fly
finally brought out the iPads....resisted as long as I could handle it!
kept him busy with stickers and toys
first time drinking Sprite!
We finally made it to our house in Estes and the 5 kids got to play after a long day of travel!
Then it was off to dinner! Cheers!
Wyatt found the perfect little park ranger outfit...too bad we didn't get it.

Took the Gondola up to feed the ground squirrels
back to the house to relax and grill out for dinner
rough night of sleep landed this boy in bed with us....
The girls went horseback riding
It was Anna's first time on a horse that she controlled. She was so brave, I was very impressed with her! She loved every second of it.
Hike around Bear Lake and to Alberta Falls
Alberta Falls (Mike took the big two way up high, we didn't trust Wyatt to stay on the ground so Wyatt and I stayed quite a bit lower and just watched them).

Wyatt was tired! He didn't nap much the entire trip to Estes Park, just a couple 10 minute naps in the car or on our backs.

climbing adventure
Aaron and the 4 big kids enjoyed a fun time climbing. Anna was in her element and Drew did a great job being very brave!
Wyatt loved wearing a hard hat - required when walking under the climbers.
our brave girl!
Wyatt "sleeping" in the big kid room...didn't last long - he wasn't welcomed after a while
Hike around Lily Lake
sweet brothers hanging out
we found a nice ranger that told the kids all kinds of interesting things
Jurrastic Park Jeep
driving around Rocky Mountain National Park exploring
I looked in the back seat and saw this....gross!
he was on the search for a cowboy hat - glad he found one (he didn't take it off for over a week)
Wyatt needed one too.
such a fun rental house - the outside of it does not do it justice!
goodbye Estes! Until next time!
