Anna 7 years 11 months

Dear Anna,

Can't believe my next monthly post will be on your 8th birthday!  Oh my!  My baby girl is growing up!  You are such a spunky girl.  You are always running around the house, climbing on couches, doing handstands, cartwheels, or kicking the soccer ball around.  You like to move, but you also would sit and watch Netflix all day if I let you.  When you are at home you also play school in the basement with Wyatt, if you can talk him into it or you do get your Barbies out from time to time.  You would love to be on camera, making videos all the time if I allowed that.  You love talking about how to do something, so if it was up to you, you'd be doing How To videos and posting them on youtube....good thing I'm in charge and would never allow it!  We are just starting the conversations about how the internet can be a dangerous place and why we limit what you are allowed to do.  You are quick to point out so and so can do....all the time.

You have been super busy with soccer, gymnastics and basketball.  You love soccer and gymnastics and you don't mind basketball.  You still have a lot to learn when it comes to basketball, so eventually you may learn to love it too.  Daddy and I are constantly amazed with your soccer and gymnastics skills.  You recently told me you plan to play soccer forever.

You and Drew enjoy playing soccer or basketball together and you two are very competitive with each other.  Wyatt and you play well too...when he wants to.  At 3 he can be a bit difficult.  You do push his buttons, but you also talk about how cute he is all the time and you love having a baby brother!

You went to your first Daddy/Daughter Dance this past weekend and you had a ball.  At first you told dad you weren't sure if you wanted to go to the dance because you weren't the dancing type....but we convinced you and dad said you did a ton of dancing and had a great time with your friends!  You even had a corsage to wear.  I loved seeing you and your dad drive off to dinner and hearing all about your night!

We love you Nans.  Now off to prepare ourselves for the big birthday coming!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Wyatt 3 years 5 months

Wyatt,

It's been another fun month.  Biggest news is probably that we took the front rail off your crib last night!  So far so good!  You stayed in bed for the most part (never left your room) last night and nap time you did awesome.  We were not expecting such a smooth transition from our wild and crazy boy.  In fact, daddy and I have been dreading this since you came into this world.  We figured you'd be out the door in the middle of the night and 1/2 way across the world before we ever woke up.  So glad we were wrong....at least so far!

You think you are the biggest boy in the world now that you have a "big boy bed."  Soon we'll actually get you a full size mattress, but for now this is working.

You have been a bit challenging lately, you like to run away from me when we are at home and I'm getting you dressed or sometimes you like to run when we at stores.  I'm trying to work on finding a solution to those issues.  You just laugh at me and don't find threats too worrisome.  You definitely keep me on my toes and have me looking for books on how to parent you.  You also love saying, "What the..." and "oh my God."  So again, working through some issues, but you are the sweetest boy most of the time so that helps.

You are busy with school Mondays and Wednesdays mornings.  You love going and love playing with your buddies Ali and Cora.  You are now going to speech twice a week, Tuesday mornings and Wednesdays at 1 (after school).  You do really well in speech class with Ms. Kati, but when practicing at home you aren't always so cooperative.  We've started a reward chart and that helps a little.  You go to gymnastics on Tuesdays right after speech and you love it!  You wake up every Thursday hoping its gymnastics and are often disappointed we don' have a place to be those days.

This month you've really started to play with toys and have little conversations between your toys.  It is a favorite stage for dad and I.  It is so fun listening to your sweet little voice and hearing all your fun idea.  You love your lego guys, super heroes, Pj Masks characters, and your Paw Patrol toys too.

We love you so much Wyatt, next month you'll be 3 1/2!

Love,
Mom and Dad

Meeting baby Joey

Uncle Matt has a new baby boy.  Wyatt and I got to take PopPop Bill to meet him at the hospital and a week or so later the big two finally got to meet their new cousin.

Drew 10 years 4 months

Dear Drew,

Not much to report lately.  We are in the midst of winter and you do miss getting outside, but you make up for it inside.  You are always running around shooting baskets or playing football.  You've enjoyed football and are bummed the season is over, but don't worry there's always basketball to watch.

You are still playing soccer, in fact you are playing indoor 4v4 and now also at All American.  You typically have 2, maybe 3 soccer games a weekend.  Basketball is going well too, you love playing.

I had a conference with your teacher earlier this month.  Mrs. Monson can't say enough great things about you.  You are a great student and a great friend to everyone.  Dad and I are so proud!  We did go through a little rough patch with you when it came to effort and asking questions when you needed help with your reading work.  I think you finally came to a part in school where maybe something was a bit hard for you.  We are working through it and making sure you always ask for help if you need it.  Sometimes you'd rather just blend in.

You, Anna and Wyatt have enjoyed some time off this month.  You and Anna often play soccer or basketball and you and Wyatt are wrestling quite a bit too. Wyatt just loves when you are home with him

We love you very much and are so proud!
Love,
Mom and Dad
